Squadron Suicide: Apparently, Kill the Justice League has been pushed back once more. Jason Schreier, a reporter for Bloomberg, says that WB Games has moved its upcoming DC Comics looter-shooter from its May 26 release date to “later this year.” The announcement comes after a PlayStation showcase of the game that was poorly received by fans due to Rocksteady Studios’ switch to a live-service model instead of the single-player Batman storylines for which they are known. However, Schreier’s source confirmed that the delay is necessary for bug fixes and launch polish, and that fan opposition will not impact the core gameplay.
For what it’s worth, Rocksteady’s latest, which was on track to compete with massive games like The Legend of Zelda: Diablo IV, Street Fighter 6 (June 2), and Tears of the Kingdom (May 12). Suicide Squad is cured by the delay: Kill any major rival Justice League and let it shine in a safer location. The game was at first set for discharge last year yet got postponed for advancement reasons. The Territory of Play show from last month validated intuitions and holes, which recommended that the game included some sort of a fight pass framework and menu components that lined up with a live-administration title. All opens will be absolutely surface level and Rocksteady vows to keep supporting the game long after send off by presenting new playable characters, missions, and weapons. The studio says that the new content won’t cost anything extra. There are no plunder boxes by the same token.
The Suicide Squad’s Pick one of four important Task Force X characters, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, or King Shark, and embark on a mission to stop the Justice League members who have given in to Brainiac’s mind control in Kill the Justice League. The game’s focus is on four-player co-op, but it can also be played solo, with AI or bots taking over the remaining squad. However, Suicide Squad was confirmed by the game’s FAQ page: In order to play Kill the Justice League, you’ll need an active internet connection. This indicates that the game will simply not launch unless it detects an internet connection, even if you decide to play by yourself. However, it does appear to be strong in co-op, offering full cross-platform support at launch. While playing the game on a console does not require a PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold membership, online co-op will.
For those who are unfamiliar, Suicide Squad: Unlike another co-op game published by WB Games, Gotham Knights, which came out last year, Kill the Justice League takes place in the Arkhamverse. In addition to the core content, the game lacked significant optimization, resulting in PC performance issues while PS5 and Xbox Series S/X versions were restricted to 30 frames per second.
Having said that, WB Games’ first 2023 game, Hogwarts Legacy, has been a huge hit, selling more than 12 million copies in its first two weeks of release. A significant achievement given the volume of online discussion it sparked regarding the contentious viewpoints of J.K. Rowling. The old-generation PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, which were recently postponed until May 5, are currently in the hands of the development studio Avalanche Software.
Squadron Suicide: On PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X, Kill the Justice League is expected to be available later this year.
